I was right! Alpine retracts!

December 6, 2011 Leave a comment

Many of you have followed my updates on here with regards to TL John Hall. Several weeks ago he has sent out a instant message blast asking people to report on my organizing activities. That is illegal!

After consistent pressure on management and a complaint filed with the National Labor relations board the company finally had TL John Hall send out another message saying that he was wrong. The issue was fixed several weeks after it had occurred and I believe it was only fixed because they were clearly in the wrong and I could prove it.

I have been told me Mr Paul Inson that the retraction went out on the 23rd of November. I have not been able to independently verify this fact but I do have a screen capture of the retraction (not sure who it was sent to).

The retraction was reiterated to me in private email correspondence from the VP of Human Resources, Paul Inson:

Thanks, Joe.  And please circle back on your findings.  The intention again is:  full retraction.  And if you do not believe that was properly conveyed…we will work with you to make it right.

Paul

This is a step in the correct direction. I have told you guys that your rights to organize WILL be protected and there will be a further investigation into the chat and email restrictions that have been placed on us as a result of concerted activities.

The time for talk is over, its time to act!

December 2, 2011 5 comments

I have been in touch with many of you about possibly organizing to form a union. We have tried to talk with management about our concerns and have seen absolutely no positive movement, no sign of good faith, nothing!

Some key questions that I have been asked recently:

“I’m worried that if they see I support this they will fire me”
They cannot fire you for organizing. I am probably the most well known CCP because of my activities in organizing and I am still here.

“Why do you think it is that the management of Alpine is trying to stop a union from forming?”
It’s very simple. When a union is formed management loses absolute control that it currently has and employees wages go up.

“Are they really doing all of the things you cite on this blog with regards to stopping union activities?”
They absolutely are. Email and chat policy has been changed and management has been actively trying to thwart our activities. All have been documented in great detail in my complaint to the National Labor Relations Board.

“How can I help?”
Go to www.callcenterunion.org/Alpine and sign the petition to call for a vote on unionization. Once we get 30% of non management (CCPs) that have signed the National Labor Relations board will set up an election.

There will then be roughly a 6 week period where the company will send you propaganda via snail mail and they will hire consultants to get the people to vote against the union.  (It is not uncommon for a company of this size to spend a half million dollars to fight unionization)

We will do the same. You will get letters and phone calls from us telling you of the benefits of the union.

After 6 weeks there will be an election. If 50%+1 off all of the CCPs on this contact vote to unionize, we are a union!

Once we unionize we will be sitting at the negotiating table with Mr Carrington and Mr Duncan & Co with trained negotiators from the IBEW Union pushing for higher wages and elimination of the “At-Will” clause in our contracts.

We will be able to see the contact that Alpine has with their Client and we will know exactly what the company is being paid for every hour that we actually work. There is no doubt in my mind that the company is being paid nearly double for every hour we work.

The best part about all of this is… you can remain completely anonymous. The company will never get your name. All you have to do is sign the union card and once we have the appropriate numbers its only a matter of time before we get higher wages and better working conditions.

There’s no catch. You can do all of this from the comfort of you computer chair. There is NOTHING to risk and only GAINS to be made.

Increase in pay email just blowing smoke

December 1, 2011 Leave a comment

Many of you have gotten the email “Survey” asking employees if they would like an increase in pay. This of course is a dumb email because everyone wants an increase in pay.

Management just wants you to think that they are considering it so that you will not organize. I will be interviewing a former employee later on who was with the company for 5 years and never recieved a pay raise. In fact he only got a pay decrease in that entire time.

Interview coming soon.

Another one bites the dust

December 1, 2011 2 comments

Team Leader Rachel Davis who sent the infamous company-wide email saying that she was “Overworked and underpaid” has been fired today.

Even after C.O.O Rob Duncan sent a follow up email asking her to talk it over with him she has still been drummed out.

After her email complaint a flurry of write-ups commenced which culminated in her termination.

Davis has been with the company for 4 years and has now been fired because of her email complaint it appears.

This is wrong folks. Stand up! Protect your rights!

Sign the petition today to have a vote on unionization. All submissions will be 100% confidential. Your bosses will never know you signed.

Another round of firings coming

November 23, 2011 Leave a comment

An email was sent out informing workers that there is likely to be another round of firings beginning the second week of December based on QoS surveys. You heard it here first!

I believe that there is a flaw in the QoS system and I intend to get to the bottom of it.
